{"id":1462,"date":"2016-08-18T18:37:10","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T17:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/slbbhi.co.uk\/?p=1462"},"modified":"2019-04-24T19:19:25","modified_gmt":"2019-04-24T18:19:25","slug":"september-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slbbhi.co.uk\/?p=1462","title":{"rendered":"2016 September meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>September 1, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGeorge \u2013 the master watchmaker\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Grahame Brooks Hon FBHI<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For this year\u2019s Beresford Hutchinson Memorial Lecture we welcome our own member and a past chairman Grahame Brooks Hon FBHI.<\/p>\n<p>Although George Daniels and Grahame both attended evening classes in watch &amp; clock making at Northampton Polytechnic in Clerkenwell (later to become the National College of Horology), they did not meet for some years after they had completed their exams.<\/p>\n<p>They were introduced at Omega in the 1960\u2019s when George made one of his weekly visits to pick-up a parcel of watches for servicing.
